Fresh Market Update

February 13, 2025
Lettuce
Cold temperatures in Yuma are causing lettuce ice issues and harvesting delays. Quality issues on the outer leaves like epidermal peel and blister are being addressed at the field level; processors are continuing to closely monitor shelf life.  There is currently good supply available, but demand is also light. If yields continue to lower due to weather conditions and demand picks up at all, there will be likely be an uptick in the market.
